I bought the .75L bottle 6 months ago and use it pretty much all the time–it goes everywhere with me. After 6 months of regular use the bottle does have some light wear (tiny scuffs/scratches) but it’s hardly noticeable. Also, I love the ocean color!
As far as the bite valve goes, I haven’t experienced any problems. I’m somewhat used to it from using the CamelBak backpacks. But I just love that it can tip all over the place and doesn’t spill a drop. And I’m still using the bite valve it came with and don’t need a new one just yet, but I do like the fact that you can purchase replacement bite valves and straws.

I love this water bottle and having the bite valve. The only problem is that my 4 year old and 2 year old chew it up a bit too much and have left holes in the valve. Other than that it is great, just keep it away from your little ones.
