I recently purchased the Omron Pocket Pedometer as the other types of pedometers work on a pendulum basis and sometimes were not very accurate. This pedometer is the first one that I have tried (have owned 5) that is accurate and doesn’t have to be worn on your belt. It accurately works in your pocket. I love that it measures aerobic steps as well as total steps, mileage, walking time, calories burned, distance, and fat burned. I set up the account which was easy; connected the mini usb to the pedometer and the USB connection to my computer. Click on my user name, pedometer and d/l data.. This is a great pedometer for anyone who likes to keep track of more than just steps. I highly recommend it.

This is by far the best one I have owned. It is comfortable to wear, the safety strap is invaluable, and the software provides easy record-keeping on your computer.

The pedometer works very well as a pedometer.

The tracking software needs to be improved.
It should be possible to connect the device to the usb cable and click one button to download the data. Even better, plug in the cable and have the data download without even clicking a button.

Instead you have to:
1. plug in device
2. launch program
3. select the user (even if you are the only user)
4. click button to download data.

Not a big deal, but since you do this often, it doesn’t need to be be harder than just step 1 above.

Yes, if you have multiple pedometers and multiple users in your family, more steps might be necessary. If you are the only user then you should be able to simplify this. In fact, even if you have multiple pedometers, the softwareware could be smart enough to recognize that pedometer #1 is always used by user #1. No need to have to tell it every time.

Purchased this for a fitness challenge at work. I have used the cheap ones before and even spent $15 on one from Target. Their mechanisms do not allow for accuracy. I was getting steps for driving down a brick road! With this ped, you have to be moving for 4 sec before it adds steps. No worries though, it hold the steps you made in that 2-3 sec and adds them in. It also can be placed in your pocket for low profile wearing. I have even clipped it to my purse when I have gone to events. It is not that noticeable and if they do notice, so what? I also love the fact that I can upload the information and track my progress. I would have given it a 5, but the clasp on the leash, while not flimsy, broke after 4 months. I just ordered the replacement leashe from the Omron site. Only $3.00. I wear it almost 24/7 and highly recommend the product.
